The Increate is a powerful entity in the lore of Dota 2.

Background

Not much is known about the Increate, but its name means that it exists yet it was not created by someone or something else before it.

Personality and Mannerisms

• The Increate can get angry. Typically directed towards Elder Titan's enemies, its anger is expressed in the form of his destructive Earth Splitter.^[1]
• In contrast to the above, the Increate can be merciful. It may overlook the Titan's failure and give him another chance in life to right his wrongs.^[2] It may also give “grand” gifts.^[3]

Relationships

Heroes

Elder Titan is the only hero known to be related with the Increate. Below are what composes his connection with the Increate.

• Most of what he does is in accordance to the Increate's mysterious will,^[4] including doing battle with his enemies.^[5][6]
• Those who are unmade and slain by the Elder Titan are told to find renewal at the hands of the Increate before being sent to it.^[7]
• Once he dies, he “returns” to the Increate, implying that it is his genesis.^[8] Afterwards, the Increate may grant him another chance in life and resurrect him.^[2]
• When the Elder Titan draws more power to grow stronger (or levelling up, basically), it is from the strength of the Increate that he draws new power.^[9]
  • His Echo Stomp uses the power of the Increate to break his enemies.^[10][11]
  • His Earth Splitter channels the Increate's fury to unmake all things caught in its reach.^[1]

The Increate is implied to be a creator deity, since it has the power to make and remake,^[7] as well as the power to destroy.^[12]
